A two year break should be sufficient

I have been reading more blogs lately and decided it's time to get to my own again. No pictures yet, but that will be coming shortly :)

Happy Birthday Beautiful

It seems I am always a few weeks behind these days but anyway....
To my sweet little daughter....
Watching you grow for three years has been the greatest joy of my life. Thanks for all the sunny smiles, tickles, tears, climbing monkey games, butterfly kisses, singing, dancing good times you have shared with me. I love you!!!

Okay Bunco babes....

So... it is my turn to host Bunco and I am currently trying to set up a night. Last time there were a few who said that the third thursday wouldn't work. So..my question is do we have it the 18th or the 25th? Both are thurs. (and unfortunately I work so we will have to meet at 7p.m.) Just comment what night works for you and tell the other Bunco members to leave me a comment. I personally would vote for the 18th because we haven't seen each other forever!!! Thanks muchas chicas.
Update...Plan on the 25th
I actually ended up getting someone to cover my shift for that night (I have to be there by 10 p.m. though to close as punishment... i mean as trade) SO plan on 6:30 p.m. and be prompt if possible. It's gonna be fun!!!

Prima Ballerina and Hot Stud

Ava absolutely loves her new dance class. She is taking it with a few of her little friends at my work. Her favorite move is putting "peanut butter" on one foot, "jelly" on the other then sticking them together and eating it. (Kind of a butterfly legs stretch). She looks so cute in her tiny leotard and ballet shoes.
Gage is turning into quite the handsome little mini-man these days. I just love being a mom!!!

1. I made roast beef in the crockpot.
2. I went to church and was reminded of all the blessings I have.
3. I played with Ava and Gage, ate dinner at my in-laws, and took a little nap

1. I am doing laundry and ironing.
2. I downloaded new pictures onto the computer.
3. I had a brownie for breakfast.

1. I have to work at both of my jobs.

3. I will take the kids for a walk and let Ava play at the park.

August is over?!!!???

So I know I have been super lame this month with my posts and so here's a few pics from the end of July and all of August. It's a new day and I will try to be better:)
Basically (in a super condensed version) Mike ran a race that ended in City Creek Canyon, Ava and Gage got their pics taken by mom on the 24th of July, my two very favorite guys, and Mike and I celebrated our 6th anniversary up at Snowbird. What a whirlwind this summer was... still adjusting to having two kids and two jobs! We are a very blessed family.

Cecret Lake

We went hiking Saturday up to Cecret Lake which is up at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. We went with my friend Holly, her husband Tyler, and their cute baby Ian. Gage loves being outside. He actually slept for most of the hike and basically woke up to have a craptastic blowout. That is the second time he has done that when we were hiking. Luckily we survived it :) Poor Ava put on her own sunscreen (thanks to her dad) and got a bunch of it in her eyes so she was kind of whiney about that. But it was an amazing view at the top and the temperature was perfect. Definately worth the hassle of taking two kids. Next time I will just have to take more wipes- for Ava's eyes if nothing else.

Princess Ava

Ava was invited to Macy's half birthday party last weekend. She got to dress up like a princess which is very exciting when you are 2 and 1/2 years old. She also had fun shopping for the present and insisted on pushing the cart around the store herself. The only problem was we bought the gift the day before the party and she had a meltdown when we didn't go to the party immediately after getting the present. We had a great time at the party. Happy Half Birthday, Macy!!!

A Day of Rest

This is what my family was doing Sunday afternoon. Lucky me, I have a hard time taking a nap. I slept for about 30 minutes and the others were out for hours. You would think from this pic that Mike was the one getting up with Gage every night. Although, to give him credit he does hang out with Ava most every night after work and puts her to bed. I guess we are dividing the kid duties pretty evenly for now.

Swimming anyone?

So, we have been swimming about 4 or 5 days a week the past few weeks. It is great because it is so dang hot and it's one thing I can do where Gage sleeps, Ava has fun, and I can relax a little bit. This week we went swimming with Shawna and Taryn. It was way fun. The best part was that we were the only ones at the pool (it's Shawna's aunt Becky's pool.) Ava is becoming quite the little swimmer with her life jacket on. I just hope she realizes that she can't go too deep without it.

Gage's Blessing

Gage was blessed July 6. He was so tuckered out that I couldn't get him to wake up for pictures. He even slept through Ava holding him. He is such a cute little guy. It was really fun to have all our family over to celebrate. Thanks to everyone for coming!!

Chubbers

Here is my cutie pie with his first smile for the camera. He is just starting to smile and coo a lot more. Yesterday was his 2 month check up and the Dr. called him baby budda- he is in the 95th percent for weight. I think he is just perfect :)

Maple Canyon

We went to Maple Canyon for Gage's first camping trip. There was hiking, climbing, and eating s'mores. We had a great time. Mike is starting to teach Ava how to rockclimb. She is our adventurous little girl. Gage spent most of the time sleeping.

I love the 80's

Mike and I went to a theme birthday party last week. It was pretty funny to see everyone in their 80's attire. After shopping at the D.I. I decided that there were no styles in the 80's that are flattering and confidence building... I think some of the other party goers would agree. It was this shirt or a units jumpsuit. The best part was fixing my hair with the big bangs and wings on the side. Aaahhhh the memories of elementary school it brings back.

So much summer fun

We went to Mike's work Bbq last week. Ava had fun at the park and trying to square dance with Mike. I can't believe I have two kids now!! Gage loved being outside. There have been a lot of nice summer nights this past week.

Mommy's little helper

Big Sister
She just loves holding her new brother and helping take care of him. Of course she has needed lots of extra love and attention too. She is constantly asking me, "Where's Micheal?" She has become quite the daddy's girl these days.
Today I was trying to do some laundry and work on the computer while the baby napped in his swing upstairs. Ava was supposed to be watching Elmo's world. It wasn't long before I could hear Gage start to fuss a little bit and so I went back upstairs to check on the kids. Gage was awake and Ava had found his sun hat, put it on him (including the chin strap), given him a binky and toy to play with. Gotta watch those little helpers close!! Good thing he seems pretty mellow so far. We'll see how long that lasts with the constant mothering that is going on.
